Work With NetOps Africa

NetOps Africa connects experienced South African IT professionals with U.S.-based Managed Service Providers for long-term, full-time placements. If you are looking for stable employment with international clients and a structured working environment, this page explains what we look for and how our process works.

    Who Should Apply

We work with IT professionals based in South Africa who have hands-on experience in technical support, systems administration, networking, cloud infrastructure, or security operations. Our placements are full-time positions, not freelance or contract work. Candidates should be comfortable working independently, managing their own time, and communicating directly with U.S.-based teams on a daily basis.

We are particularly interested in candidates who value long-term career stability, take ownership of their work, and are motivated by the opportunity to grow within an international operating environment. Prior experience working with U.S. or international clients is helpful but not required.

    Roles We Typically Place

Most of our placements support U.S. Managed Service Providers across helpdesk, infrastructure, and operations functions. Common roles include:

    L1/L2 Service Desk Engineers
    L2/L3 Senior Support Engineers
    NOC Monitoring Technicians
    System Administrators (Windows/AD)
    Microsoft 365 and Azure Specialists
    Network and Security Engineers
    IT Dispatchers and Coordinators
    Cloud Infrastructure Engineers

Engineers placed through NetOps Africa typically work within their client's PSA, RMM, and documentation systems. Familiarity with tools such as ConnectWise, Datto, Kaseya, or SentinelOne is valued.

    Communication and Professionalism Expectations

Every engineer placed through NetOps Africa works directly with U.S.-based teams and, in many cases, communicates with end users on behalf of the MSP. Strong written and verbal English communication is essential. We expect clear, professional correspondence in tickets, emails, and live interactions.

Our clients value reliability, accountability, and proactive communication. Engineers are expected to meet agreed working hours, follow established escalation procedures, and document their work consistently. These are long-term placements, and the professionals we place are expected to operate as fully integrated members of the client's team.

    Our Selection and Interview Process

We do not maintain a large bench of pre-hired candidates. Each placement is sourced specifically to match a client's technical environment, team structure, and operational requirements. The selection process is structured and thorough:

    1

    Application Review

We review your CV, certifications, and relevant experience against current client requirements.

    2

    Technical Assessment

Candidates complete a structured technical evaluation relevant to the role, covering troubleshooting scenarios, systems knowledge, and documentation quality.

    3

    English and Communication Interview

A live interview assesses English fluency, clarity of communication, and ability to interact professionally with U.S.-based teams and end users.

    4

    Culture Fit Evaluation

We assess alignment with the client's working style, including time management, initiative, and comfort working independently within a remote team.

    5

    Client Interview and Placement

Shortlisted candidates are presented to the client for a final interview. Once confirmed, onboarding into the client's systems and workflows begins.

Cultural Alignment for U.S. MSP Environments

Our clients are U.S.-based Managed Service Providers serving American businesses. The engineers we place need to understand the expectations of that environment. This includes direct, clear communication with end users who expect prompt and professional responses. It also means working within structured SLA frameworks, following documentation standards, and escalating issues appropriately.

South African professionals are well suited to this operating model. The business culture, English fluency, and professional communication standards in South Africa align closely with U.S. expectations. We specifically evaluate candidates for this alignment during our interview process, and we provide guidance during onboarding to ensure a smooth integration into the client's team and workflows.
